Gilien Pearson has been operating Pheasant Grove sales for 18 years and has been training and selling horses for over 35 years. A native of England, Gilien trained with Cherry Hatton Hall at Moat Farm in Benenden. In 1975, Gilien relocated to the Bay Area and spent several years working as a hunter/jumper trainer. In 1984, Gilien established Swynford Manor, a successful “A” circuit show and sales barn in Santa Ynez, California. Ten years later, Gilien decided to focus on equine sales and established Pheasant Grove in Oakdale, California. Gilien has been successfully placing horses with clients in California and the Pacific Northwest ever since. Gilien’s sales philosophy is simple. She is committed to creating the ideal horse and rider combination and prides herself on locating “just the right horse” for all level of riders. Looking for the perfect new horse? Pheasant Grove owns several young prospects offered for sale as well as representing many privately-owned horses. With a wide selection of capabilities and price ranges, Pheasant Grove offers everything from the ideal “first horse” through the successful show veteran. Pheasant Grove also accepts select horses into its sales program. In addition to basic care, all sales program horses are regularly ridden, turned-out and groomed. This assures your horse is always prepared to put his best hoof forward when a potential buyer arrives.
